The Pacific people, whose actions inspired this work, resolutely defend their ancestral homes and cultures that are under threat from global warming. This work is conceived as a warning: a transitioning and fragmenting world hovers on the edge of the abyss. Will the world’s leaders take heed, or allow the world to overheat, and its societies fragment? A 2050 world envisions action now to prevent islands such as Tuvalu being taken by the sea to become the first climate change refugee nation.
